Later inked ownership inscription of Mildred Seymour dated 1893 to first blank fly-leaf of Vol.I. Small loss to right edge of FFEP, Vol.I. The complete poetical works of Percy Bysshe Shelley, finely bound, and edited by his widow, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. First published in four volumes in 1839, the collection includes Shelley's finest compositions, among them the inimitable Queen Mab, verse drama The Cenci, and the epic Prometheus Unbound. This copy likely belonged to American aristocrat Julia Overing (Boit) Sturgis (1823-1888).
