A presentation copy of the sole edition of a study by T. F. Donald detailing the affairs of the Hodge-Podge Club, a literary society founded in Glasgow in 1750 and formally named in 1752, when records begin. The club, characterised by its dedication to smoking fine tobacco, persisted well over a hundred years, attended by a swathe of Glaswegian professionals and literary enthusiasts. Donald details in this work the club's origins, members, meetings and regulations, accompanied with a list of the club's records, toasts and articles belonging to the society.
