London.
Printed and Sold by J. Roberts, 1729.
8vo.
61pp, [1]. Modern grey paper boards, contrasting gilt-tooled red morocco lettering-piece. Light browning and slight scattered spotting throughout.
Often attributed to satirist and political writer Nicholas Amhurst (1697-1742), this pamphlet forms a defence of Sir Robert Walpole against charges of neglecting England's commercial interests in the West Indies, thus strengthening the position of rivals Spain. Reference is made to British expeditions undertaken in the region, by the likes of Admiral Hosier, against the Spaniards; with an account of the degradations committed by the Spanish fleet upon British merchants, and a list of the vessels captured by them.
