Armorial bookplate of Moor Park, Hertfordshire and inked shelf-mark to FEPs of both vols. Very occasional light browning to leaves, otherwise internally clean and crisp.
The collected works of ancient Greek rhetorician Isocrates (436-338 BC), with notes by English physician William Battie (1703-1776), best known for his 1758 Treatise on Madness.

Vol. II had been issued separately the previous year, with this two-volume edition presenting Battie's complete edit for the first time.
