An early nineteenth-century Edinburgh edition of Bluestocking educationalist Hannah More's (1745-1833) first significant work, a pastoral verse drama initially published in Bristol in 1762 for the moral instruction of her female pupils. This edition is augmented with several of More's later poetic efforts, including her vehemently abolitionist verse 'The Slave Trade', first published in 1788 under the title 'Slavery' to publicise William Wilberforce's abolition bill.
