The fourth volume of the Religious Tract Society's The Child's Companion, a monthly evangelical chapbook periodical comprised of juvenile devotional literature and poetry.

First issued in 1824, The Child's Companion - one of the Society's earliest periodicals - endured for the best part of century, the final issue appearing in 1921. In its first year, 339,000 copies of The Child's Companion were issued. The profits were considerable enough to enable the Society to establish a fund for the education of children in India.
