The first edition of a curious theological treatise by John Saddington (c.1634?–1679), early Muggletonian writer and one of the first followers of the small Protestant sect. His 'Prospective-Glass' is notable for being one of the few Muggletonian books addressed to non-believers, as the religion disavowed Evangelism; its teachings espouse typically Muggletonian ideas, among them the rejection of worldly riches, the existence of God as a finite, bodily being, and a vitriolic disillusionment with reason, which is viewed as a cheap human trick stemming from selfish desire and insecurity.
