Folio.
15pp, [1]. Finely bound in original publisher's navy silk moire, supralibros of the royal arms to upper boards. Immaculate.
A decadently bound folio, in original blue silk moire, and finely preserved, of the official printed account of the marriage ceremonial for Princess Helena, the fifth child and third daughter of Queen Victoria, who married Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein in 1871. Considered to be energetic and outspoken, Princess Helena was the only one of Victoria's children to eventually celebrate a Golden Wedding anniversary. Her husband, the German Prince Christian, was selected personally by Queen Victoria; despite strong opposition from many members of the royal family, who objected to the Prince's age and his lordship of the formerly British-owned Schleswig-Holstein territory, the couple proved to be an excellent match.
