Inked ownership inscription of Emily S. Lonsdale, dated 1874, to head of title. Light browning and spotting to blank fly-leaves, otherwise internally clean and crisp.
A Victorian collection of passages intended to accompany Sunday prayers and Christian holidays, preceded by an extensive calendar denoting their most appropriate allotments. This copy, bound for the owner, belonged to Emily Susan Lonsdale (1832-1917), daughter of St George Caulfeild of Donamon Castle of Roscommon, Ireland, and wife of Henry Lowther, Third Earl of Lonsdale.
