'WELLINGTON, when 9 years old, obtained the first Prize at Wentworth, in 1850, and the first Prize at Barnsley, the same year, and a Silver Medal at the same place, being judged the best Cart Horse. He also obtained a prize of £10 at the Great Agricultural Show, at York, in 1853, and the first Prize at Wetherby, in the same year.' An ephemeral survival, entirely unrecorded, advertising the services of a grandly named stud horses of exceptional pedigree at a rate of 'one guinea a mare'.
