The sole edition, in original state, of a short textbook on astronomy written in collaboration between John Lee Comstock (1787-1858), American surgeon and educator, and Richard Dennis Hoblyn (1803-1886), scientific writer. The authors impress throughout the introduction that they intend, above all, to stimulate and gratify the curiosity of young minds: 'Let not the ability of the taste of the young mind be underrated; let the importance of truth - of truth for its own sake - apart from the discouragement of punishment of the stimulus of reward, be placed before it'.
