The first edition of an intricate biography of Swedish opera singer Johanna Maria 'Jenny' Lind (1820-1887), written in collaboration between Regius Professor of Divinity Henry Scott Holland (1847-1918) and English musicologist William Smith Rockstro (1823-1895). Lind, who achieved extraordinary fame across Northern Europe and America, was closely associated with composer Felix Mendelssohn, and served as a professor of singing at the Royal College of Music from 1882.
