The sole edition of a touching memorial volume dedicated to the life and exploits of Scottish Captain and Adjutant James Lusk (1878-1915), who, preceding the outbreak of war in 1914, worked for numerous years as a civil engineer, becoming a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1906. Noted for his efficiency behind the trenches, Lusk was decorated in October 1914 by the French Government with the Cross of the Legion of Honour, and later was mentioned in despatches; he died in France from injuries sustained during trench warfare shortly before the inauguration of 1916.
