'Patterns of the Cloathing, and Shoes to be furnished in lieu of the smaller Articles, shall be exhibited to our Clothing Board; who, if they approve the same, will affix their Seal thereto; the Patterns so sealed shall be sent to, and remain deposited at, the Head Quarters of each Corps; in order that the new Cloathing and Shoes may be compared therewith at any convenient time'.
