The first edition of the final devotional work of Anglican bishop Robert Milman (1816-1876); Milman's memoir, written by his sister, Frances Maria, notes that 'a second part was to have been written - The Mercy of the Atonement ' - but unfortunately he never found leisure to complete it.' The work was successful, running through at least seven editions.
