Often attributed to Robert Bolton, this collection of eight letters first appeared in London in 1762. The first three essays concern history, the next biography, followed by three on contemporary matters of taste, and, finally, one on the reasons 'Why Poetry has flourished more in England then Sculpture and Painting'.
