A manuscript commonplace of transcribed poetry, begun in 1863 by a Miss West, including Tennyson's 'Ode Sung at the Opening of the International Exhibition', and a six-stanza verse initially printed in Punch in 1859 on the disappearance of naval officer Sir John Franklin (1786-1847) and company during their fateful expedition to navigate the Northwest Passage.
