A sketch from nature. A rural poem.
London.
Printed for Gale, Curtis, and Fenner et al., 1814.
First edition.
8vo.
vi, [3], 10-53pp, [1]. With half-title. Original publisher's drab paper boards, Extremities a trifle rubbed. Lightly spotted.
The first edition, in original state, of this anonymous pastoral poem 'attempted at an early period of life' which 'consists chiefly of a series of local scenery much endeared to the author', frustratingly however our reticent writer has omitted 'all nominal allusions to the particular spot described'. The rather juvenile verse concludes with a rather sudden diversion into an argument for the divine origin of the Bible.
