The first London edition of Church of Scotland minister and writer on theology Robert Baron's (c. 1596-1639) Metaphysica generalis, first published posthumously at Leiden in 1654. A scholastic exposition of Aristotelian philosophy, Metaphysica formed a part of the curriculum of students at Oxford University and Trinity College, Dublin, well into the eighteenth century.
