Two remarkably rare works by writer on art and headmaster William Gilpin (1724-1804).The lives of John Trueman, Richard Atkins, &c. is a fictious narrative of two labourers, one saint, the other sinner. It was first printed in an undated edition about 1790. ESTC records just two copies of this third edition (BL and Hurd).

Gilpin's biography of, and funeral sermon for, William Baker (1710-1791) was first printed for Blamire in 1791. This second extant edition appears to be a close reprint, rather than a reissue of unsold sheets. ESTC records a single copy of each edition, both held by the British Library.
