Uniformly bound in contemporary navy calf, richly tooled in gilt and blind, with contrasting red and burgundy morocco lettering-pieces, and supralibros of The Queen's College, Birmingham to each upper board. Gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, A.E.G. Lightly rubbed and marked, with spines sunned. Some spotting to initial and terminal leaves of each volume.
A handsome duo, presented in a fine prize binding to a student of the Queen's College medical school, Birmingham, of two devotional works by Church of Ireland archbishop of Dublin and poet Richard Chenevix Trench (1807-1886), discussing the Parables and Miracles of Christ respectively.
