The second located copy of an anonymous novella intended for a juvenile readership, issued as the eighteenth title in Thomas Nelson's Home Library for Little Readers series 'designed to show how the single principle of Christian charity proves a perfect, unfailing guide of feeling and conduct'. The book is a spiritual sequel to Ellen Carrol, the previous title in the series. In would appear that both works were initially published by the American Sunday-School Union at Philadelphia in 1833 and 1834 respectively. No other British editions appear extant.
