Rubbed, joints starting, paper label with title in manuscript to head of spine. Contemporary inked ownership inscriptions of James Stuart to front endpapers, scattered spotting.
The sole recorded Oxford edition of an anthology of classical Greek satirical verse, extracted from manuscripts held by the Bodleian, for the use of students of Westminster School; including excerpts from the works of, inter alia, Anacreon, Menander, and Theocritus. The first London edition appeared in 1734.
