The sole edition, in original state, of an anthology of previously unpublished poetry, including compositions by, inter alia, Edward FitzGerald, Edward Bulwer-Lytton, William Wordsworth, and Lord Byron.
The editor, Charlotte Blenclowe, was the daughter of Sir Henry Poole, baronet, and married Robert Willis Blencowe in 1815, of a Northamptonshire family. The collection contains the first appearance of Wordsworth's poem 'The Peat-Stack' and Byron's 'Verses in an Album'. Many of the contributions are by women, including Letitia Elizabeth Landon, Felicia Hemans, Joanna Baillie, Amelia Opie, Anna Maria Porter, and Jane West.
The lengthy list of subscribers includes Lady Byron (for six copies) and many titled ladies, often requesting multiple copies.
