The first edition of poet and playwright William Whitehead’s (bap. 1715, d. 1785) elegiac verse, composed whilst accompanying his pupil, the then eighteen-year-old George Harcourt, Viscount Nuneham (1736-1809) on the Grand Tour (1754-6), and to whom he dedicates the third elegy here.
