ON THIN ICE
Memoir of bowyer smith.
Bristol.
Printed and published by John Wright, 1839.
32mo.
28pp. Original publisher's salmon pink pictorial wrappers. A trifle rubbed.
An apparently unrecorded edition, from the Bristolian steam press of John Wright, of hymn writer Basil George Woodd's (1760- 1831) account, reprinted from the Christian Guardian, of the remarkably pious young Bowyer Smith (1803-1811), who died at the age of seven from injuries sustained during an ice-skating accident, and whom the author met on his death bed (and, given the circumstances, rather tactlessly quizzed on the nature of Christ).
