TENNYSON, Frederick. Days and hours.

London. John W. Parker and Son , 1854. First edition.
8vo. viii, 346pp, [6]. With 6 pages of publisher's advertisements at rear. Original publisher's brown cloth boards tooled in gilt and blind. Boards and spine slightly marked, slight bumping to corners. Small green paper label on FEP displaying 'Gilbert Brothers, Booksellers'.
The first edition of Frederick Tennyson's (1807-1898) only collection of poetry to be published before his final years. The brother of the acclaimed Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892), Frederick's poetry went largely unnoticed in his lifetime, leading him to pursue his love of music and mysticism. This collection of verse documents the progression of the year, interspersed with depictions of folk tales and individuals.
