John Stanhope Arkwright (1872–1954), was a British Conservative politician, barrister, and poet. He attended Christ Church College, Oxford, where he was awarded the Newdigate Prize for poetry, resulting in this volume. He is best remembered for penning the WWI Hymn 'O Valiant Hearts'. The poem 'Other Children', which appears in manuscript here, does not appear to have been published.
