Internally bright save light toning. Loosely inserted are two hymn sheets, one bifold with music for The Supreme Sacrifice, and a single lyric leaf of 'hymn for the new year'.
John Stanhope Arkwright (1872–1954), was a British Conservative politician, barrister, and poet. He attended Christ Church College, Oxford, where he was awarded the Newdigate Prize for poetry, resulting in this volume. He is best remembered for penning the WWI Hymn 'O Valiant Hearts', among others.
