[MEDITERRANEAN PILOT]. The mediterranean pilot...

London. Printed for the Hydrographic Office, Admiralty, by Eyre and Spottiswoode, 1905-08 Fourth edition.
8vo. In four volumes. With five maps and five plates. Original publisher's brown cloth, lettered in gilt. A trifle rubbed and marked, spines sunned.
The first twentieth century edition, in original state, of the invaluable coastal pilot for the Mediterranean.

The first edition was published in 1873. A second, amended from Spanish surveys (1873-84); French surveys of the coasts of Algeria and Tunis (1874-84); and the Italian surveys of Sardinia (1880-83), appeared in 1885. The present edition contains information from the contemporary issues of French, Spanish, and Italian sailing directions, and is furnished with additional information regarding the Maltese islands.

Amendments to the pilot guide were published in fourth section of the weekly edition of Admiralty notices to mariners, with listings of amendments in force published in the final issue of each month; those corrections still in force at year's end were reprinted in the annual summary of admiralty notices to mariners.
