An anthology of poetry originally published in journalist and playwright Edward Topham's (1751-1820) daily newspaper the World and Fashionable Advertiser, the first volume of which is dominated by the early sentimental verse of the primarily Florentine-based band of English poets, known as the Della Cruscans. The book was reprinted as The British album in 1790.
