The second edition of a pamphlet announcing the aims of the Association of Protestant Schoolmasters in the North of England, first published in 1774, the year in which the association was founded. A charitable institution founded in 1774, the association solicited funds, from both the public and its own subscribed members, to bolster the salaries and otherwise financially support the families of schoolmasters in counties of Northumberland, Durham, Cumberland, Westmoreland, and the towns of Newcastle upon Tyne and Berwick upon Tweed.
