Stopford Brooke's copy of Wordsworth's unfinished philosophical poem, 'The Recluse'. Brooke would go on to establish and front the effort to buy and preserve Dove Cottage, the home of Wordsworth between 1800 and 1808, 'for the eternal possession of those who love English poetry all over the world'. An anthology of Wordsworth's poetry, selected and edited by Brooke, was later published in 1907.
