From the fourth London edition of William Harrison Ainsworth's (1805-1882) gothic romance novel, first published in 1834. Published in Paris, this edition formed part of ‘Baudry’s Foreign Library’, a line of foreign language books published in France by bookseller Louis-Claude Baudry that achieved success pre-Tauchnitz.
