The first edition of English historian and ecclesiastic Henry Hart Milman's (1791-1868) dramatic poem, Belshazzar, upon which the influence of Byron can be clearly seen. Milman would go on to write The Martyr of Antioch (1822), which served as the primary influence for Arthur Sullivan's (1842-1900) 'Sacred Musical Drama' of the same name, first performed in 1880.
