A new edition of select French verse by François-Séraphin Régnier-Desmarais (1632-1713), French ecclesiastic, grammarian, diplomat and poet in French, Spanish and Latin. Alongside poetry and plays, 'Abbot' Régnier would also publish a work on French grammar, his Traité de la Grammaire Françoise (1705), which attempted to collate and analyse grammatical studies from the seventeenth century.
