Contemporary black half-calf, tooled in gilt and blind, grey cloth boards, contrasting red morocco letteringpiece, lettered in gilt "G. Hardyman' to upper board, spine dated 1885-86. Rubbed and marked. Internally clean and crisp.
A journal of manuscript lecture notes, comprised of methodologies for conducting surgical procedures, taken by physician George Hardyman (1862-1944). Hardyman attended Fettes College and graduated Edinburgh University. Shortly after qualifying as a surgeon in 1889, he relocated to Bath where he established a consulting room. In 1896 he wis recorded as holding the position of deputy Medical Officer of Health for Bath. Hardyman sat on numerous committees, The Bath Temperance Society and The Royal National Mineral Water Hospital among them.
