The first edition of a eulogy on Benjamin Hoadly, Bishop of Bangor, by English whig poet Nicholas Amhurst (1697 – 1742). Written as a student of the University of Oxford, from which he was shortly expelled for his political leanings, Amhurst's verse invoked imagery of Catholic heresy to accuse the established church of corruption and Popery.
