Scattered spotting, particularly to endpapers.
A presentation copy of the sole edition of the second published work by Mancunian Pottery manufacturer Lawrence Pilkington (1855-1941), illustrated by his daughter, Margaret (1891-1974), painter, engraver and artisan. The father-and-daughter duo, who collaborated on several other illustrated works - including Tattlefold: a tale of a Lancashire colliery village (1926) and The chimneys of Tattleton: a story of old Lancashire (1928) - were heavily involved in the Manchester arts scene, with Lawrence contributing decorative tiles to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Margaret founding the Red Rose Guild, which aimed to promote British arts and crafts.
