A presentation copy of the first edition, provincially published, of a collection of anonymous pastoral and agricultural verse compositions inspired by the city and surrounding landscapes of Chichester, West Sussex. The book may have been produced at the private press of landscape painter Charles Knight (1901-1990), who resided in Ditchling, East Sussex, and served as Vice-Principal of the Brighton School of Art and the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours.
