Original publisher's green cloth, stamped in gilt and blind, and lettered in gilt to spine. Lightly rubbed, spine slightly dulled. Very occasional light spotting.
The first edition of barrister Henry Rowland Brown's (1837–1921) Songs of Early Spring, later revised and republished as Songs of Early Spring. With lays of Later Life. Rowland Brown's son, with whom he shared a name, grew up to be a noted English entomologist, specialising in Lepidoptera, or winged insects.
