A 'lantern' lecture on Dickensian London given by Dorset literary critic, poet, and historian Cumberland Clark (1862-1941), who has in recent years garnered a reputation for his devotion to doggerel, being recognised in numerous publications as one of the worst poets in the English language. Despite his poor poetic output, Clark produced almost 70 published works, including 15 volumes on Shakespeare, nine on Dickens, seven about the British Empire, and numerous anti-Communist political tracts.
