Modern gilt-tooled burgundy half-morocco, red cloth boards. Marbled endpapers. Lightly rubbed and marked, with a touch of surface wear to upper board of Vol.I. Browning to edges of endpapers, very occasional light spotting throughout.
A handsome copy of Charles Dickens' (1812 - 1870) first novel. The Pickwick Papers, once part of a larger set of the Gadshill Edition, was originally serialised between March 1836 – November 1837, before being published in book form almost immediately after the last issue.
