The first American edition, published by Marxist publishing house International Publishers, of a collection of correspondence sent from Karl Marx to close friend and confidant Louis Kugelmann (1828-1902) between the years of 1862 and 1874. The letters, which contain both notable biographical anecdotes and theoretical musings by Marx on the Paris Commune, are prefaced with a contextual evaluation by Vladimir Lenin.
